Rocky has his own battle in Creed

Fear not Rocky fans, there is more of the Italian Stallion to come. This time in the form of Creed; a slight twist to the saga that sees Apollo Creed’s son take the boxing contender role, who seeks Rocky Balboa to be his trainer and win the title.

The official film synopsis released today reads…

Adonis Johnson (Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there’s no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed’s legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa. Once in the City of Brotherly Love, Adonis tracks Rocky (Stallone) down and asks him to be his trainer. Despite his insistence that he is out of the fight game for good, Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo—the fierce rival who became his closest friend. Agreeing to take him on, Rocky trains the young fighter, even as the former champ is battling an opponent more deadly than any he faced in the ring. With Rocky in his corner, it isn’t long before Adonis gets his own shot at the title…but can he develop not only the drive but also the heart of a true fighter, in time to get into the ring?

Creed Movie 2
Michael B Jordan stars as Adonis Creed and will wear the same American trunks as Apollo, and then Rocky would go on to wear.

Michael B Jordan, who is starring in the upcoming Fantastic Four remake, plays Adonis Creed with Sylvester Stallone reprises the role of Rocky, of course. Now by the looks of things, Rocky Balboa’s health doesn’t look to be in the best shape. Could this be the reason he takes on the challenge of training Adonis, wanting to help someone else achieve what he has done before he dies? There have always been comparison’s between Muhammed Ali’s career and the basis of the Rocky saga. So Balboa could be suffering from Parkinson’s disease as do so many boxers inherit as a result of years in the ring. This is just pure speculation at this stage of course, but does seem likely.

Just last month, scenes were filmed during half-time between Everton and West Bromwich Albion at Everton’s Goodison Park for crowd scenes and Stallone even donned the Toffee’s famous strip.

Creed will be released on November 25, 2015.

I created rKade, hence the name! My favourite game has to be Uncharted 2 - I was 16 when that game come out and it was just huge. My favourite film is Back to the Future, closely followed by Die Hard, of course.
